Searching for products

There are several ways to navigate the maxsimafoto website and find the items you need.

- Keyword Search Use the search box to enter keywords that relate to your product. Example: Type"LP-E8" or a manufacturer/brand name such as "Canon".

Some words may bring a lot of matches so to produce more helpful and precise search results, try adding in an extra word or two, such as "battery".

To the left of the screen a further area called 'Compatible With' can further assist your search.

Example: Click on "Batteries" in the upper menu then click on "Canon" from the manufacturer list. You will now see 'Compatible With' appear to the left of the screen. You can now select one or multiple items from the list provided. As you search for your products the list will change dynamically in relation to any item available that is in some way 'Compatible With' your product.

The 'Price Range' slider can be used to further refine by product cost.

Managing your order

How do I know if my order has been accepted?

If your order has been received you will receive an email confirmation of your purchase shortly after completing your online checkout.

Please note that after we have received your order your card issuer needs to complete their checks. They may subsequently decline your payment; if this happens, we will contact you by email and you should contact your card issuer for more details. Please check for emails confirming this or review the progress of your order using your website account.

Can I add to my existing order?

Unfortunately you can’t add new items to a confirmed order after the checkout stage, you will need to place a new order.

How do I cancel my order?

If you do need to cancel an order, please email as soon as possible.

How do I see a history of my orders?

When you are signed into your maxsimafoto.com online account click on the "My Account" link. This will allow you to review any of your online orders with us as well as update your account details.

Payment Process

What are my options for making a payment?

We use PayPal, the electronic payment service owned by eBay. Unfortunately we do not accept payment by cheque or Laser card.

For enhanced protection when paying directly to maxsimafoto we are now using the Verified by Visa (VbV) security programme from Visa and the SecureCode system from MasterCard. VbV and SecureCode allow you to create your own personal password to use as an extra security measure for any online Visa or MasterCard payments you make.

Please check the Visa or MasterCard websites for more detail at www.visa.com and www.mastercard.com/uk. Alternatively, please phone your bank for more information and assistance.

When is my credit / debit card charged?

If you choose to pay via Credit or Debit card directly to maxsimafoto.com we make an initial check with your card issuer when the order is placed, but payment is only taken at the point the order is sent to the warehouse for the goods to be despatched. If you place an order for an item which is out of stock you will only be charged when the item is available to ship.

If you choose to pay via PayPal, payment will be made immediately even if the product is shown on the website as being unavailable for immediate despatch. This is an unfortunate restriction of the PayPal service we use.

What is "Verified by Visa" and "MasterCard SecureCode"?

These services are offered by Visa and MasterCard in association with your card issuer to enhance your protection when shopping online. The schemes work in a similar way to Chip and PIN, protecting your card with a password which only you know. If your card issuer participates in either of the schemes and you haven't already registered, simply follow the on-screen instructions to create your own password. If you have already registered, then enter your password and click submit. This information is completely secure, and is only shared between you and your card issuer. Your identity is verified and your transaction is secure – it's as easy as that.

I'm having problems ordering because of Verified by Visa, MasterCard SecureCode or other payment issues.

If you are having any payment problems such as using Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode please contact your card issuer directly for more information.

What is CV2

The CV2 number is the three digit code printed on your credit or debit card. For Visa and MasterCard the Card Security code is printed on the signature strip on the back of the credit card. The value does not appear on the front of the card. The value will be the last 3 digits of the printed number at the top of the signature strip.
